Eric Langshur followed a well-intentioned, but unintentional path into healthcare. In 1998, he and his wife created an html website to update their families on a new child.
The effort led Langshur and his wife to leave a secure job in aerospace and medicine, respectively, to create a social network, CarePages, that worked with 800 hospitals to create pages for patients with news to share.
Revolution Health would acquire the company in 2007.
Langshur became hooked on healthcare, creating an incubator, Abundant Venture Partners, to focus on efforts that try to improve the human condition.
He also co-founded AVIA to work with a network of hospitals eager to find digital solutions to financial and clinical challenges. The group works with hospital executives to identify and then innovate potential ideas.
In this podcast, Langshur shares his history, explains AVIA’s role in digital innovation, and talks a bit about his best-selling book, “Start Here: Master the Lifelong Habit of Wellbeing,” a guide to helping people live happier lives with less stress.
