Too many Medtech companies have moved away from creating and designing, says Mrigasha Patel of Medtronic’s upstream product marketing team. “I’m hoping smaller companies will continue the creativity and bring design thinking to the medical device industry,” she adds.
That’s because innovation doesn’t happen at the executive level, she explains. “It truly happens at the individual contributor level.”
Once that happens, those people then must be recognized so that they don’t leave the business, because value is vague in healthcare, Patel concludes.
